1999 Shabah 222 Inter family Purchase
 

Hello, everyone, thanks for having me. There are very good odds I'll be purchasing a 1999 Mariah Shabah 222 from my grandfather-in-law's estate in the coming month. He was a meticulous owner, and settled on the new 1999 model after owning a 1997 and a 1998 the two years before. The boat is in like new condition other than some small vinyl wear. The boat is dry stored less than a mile from the ramp, so the trailer has never even seen an expressway. When it was in the water, it was docked on a hydro lift.

He also has tons of documentation which I'll have to dig back through next time to see what I can help provide if any aren't already hosted. He had a several volume service manual for the engine (hundreds of pages) as well as brochures, the original bindered manual, and some magazine reviews.

The boat was not put in the water at all last year, so next steps are to get the price from the estate, and get her de-winterized and see if she still starts up. The battery was still in the boat, unhooked, so we'll see if it can be charged, or needs replaced.

I've searched but have so far been unable to find a general 'new owners' thread to give me things to look for, inspect, etc... before deciding to purchase or trying to put in the water. If anyone can point me in that direction, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks!
