Hey guys, I signed up the other day and wanted to say hello to you all. I purchased a 96 Mariah Talari last week in Florida and drove it all the way back to it's new home in Missouri. I fell in love with the layout and look of the boat and after reading some good reviews about the Mariah brand I went ahead and pulled the trigger.

This is my first boat ever so I will have many questions and look forward to gaining some knowledge from you all. I'll post up some pics soon once I have a chance to get her out and uncovered.

Thanks for the welcome, and I'll take you up on that offer! This first one is pretty easy I think... after getting her home from the 1300 some mile trip, I started noticing things that lead me to believe that the boat is not properly fitted to my trailer.

I haven't checked the tongue weight yet, but I am not too concerned about that at the moment since I drove 1300 miles at 70mph without incident there.

What does concern me is that the boat is sitting on the trailer tilted to the right side. Upon inspection, I notice that the bunks are meeting the hull in different spots because of their placement. I would like to adjust the bunks to sit closer together, thus allowing the flat spot along the back of the hull that's in the pictures to rest directly on the bunks.

Once it's level I should be able to adjust the rollers I'm thinking.

So here are my two questions...

Is it safe to have the boat sitting on those two flat spots along the hull? Or do the bunks need to be at a different location?

Does my adjustment plan sound ok or am I missing something? Thanks!

That looks interesting! That boat looks a little big for that trailer.

I'm not sure that's the case, based on all the research I've done my boat is on the borderline of fitting on a single axle. I haven't seen a tandem axle trailer from any manufacturer I've looked at that the 201 is too big for.

However, in my research I've also noticed that there's two very different types of trailer designs out there. One, the more common one, has the axles somewhere in the center of the trailer and the boat sits fully on the trailer with the transom flush with the rear of the trailer.

The other design, which mine is, has the axles at the very back of the trailer frame, and two very large (typically 3x8, 4x8, or 4x10) bunks which hang out well beyond the end of the trailer frame for the boat to rest on.

That said, I have plenty of room to move the boat either towards the tongue, or further back depending on the needs of my tongue weight, so I really don't think it's too small. But, I also have no experience and this is just my internet knowledge talking.
