Canopy

Good Afternoon:

I recently purchased a 1996 Mariah Shabah. Length is 20" Has a 5.7 mercrusier with inboard/outdrive. What I do not have is the full Model Number. A Shabah????? Do I need the full model to purchase a new canopy, or will what I have suffice?

Also, any recommendations on where to buy the canopy?

Have had to boat on the water just a couple of times. Got to say..I Love It!~!!

Either post a couple of photos so that someone can tell you what model boat you have or send your hull ID# to the site Admin "ShabahZ280" via Private Message and he can tell you.

Re: Canopy

I'll look up your HIN and PM you the info shortly, as I'm at work and don't have access to those specific build sheets now.

But, as far as buying a "canopy", there's really no place that you can order them from using just the model number. Mariah made all of their canvas in-house, and when the factory closed down in 2001, the canvas packages were no longer available. Many companies online offer "universal" fit Bimini tops and covers, but they are just a generic design that's sized to fit a range of different boats. If you want a quality top that'll last, be an exact fit, and do everything you want, you'll want to have one custom made. This involves contacting your local marine canvas shop, they'll come out and take measurements, make it out of top notch fabric and materials, and they'll custom fit everything to your boat. Pricing is higher, but you'll always get what you pay for with custom marine canvas.

Thanks for the info, and I do appreciate you relaying the other information to me when you can (HIN & PM). I'll be contacting a marine canvass shop today. Don't mind boating without the Canopy but when it's 105 degrees really would be helpful.
