CX22M - problems, problems, problems;-(

Hej there,

I'm Marcus from Germany - sorry for my missing words, my English is a little rusty.

We recently bought a 1993 CX22 Mariah boat. A fine running thing.

But when we got her out of the water we realized that one of the trim panels/balance assys (that's what my dictionary translates it) is completely broken off. Seems that it has simply been stripped from the boat' body. The GFK is still there, but I figured out that the wooden part is quite wet.

Second problem, the guy from the boat service told me that I'll have to renew some sort sof sealing at the steering which seems to be very complicated. He said they'll have to remove the engine from the body. I don't even know the german word for the damaged part. Must be some kind of bearing and sealing thing that is simply old and has to be refitted.

First of all ... problem 1.
How to fix. Really remove everything from the body, open up the lamination and set in new wood? Are there any construction plans available, so that we could see how this wooden back part may look like? Would it be an option toi add an aluminium plate to seal it and adapt the new trims to this?

I'd be happy if anyone could perhas mage some suggestions.
Thanks so far 4 HLP;-)

Marcus
