Remove 2 tires from Double Axle?

End of last season I had the tread start to come off 2 of my trailer tires as I hauled the boat to storage. Time to go get her out, but I don't want to tow the trailer 10 miles with tread flying off to get to the tire store. Can I take 2 of the 4 tires off and have the boat sit safely on the remaining 2 tires and haul the bad tires into the tire store off the trailer, or is there something about the Chariot double axle trailer I need to worry about if one axle has no wheels on it? I know my same boat (209 Talari) can use a single axle trailer so I doubt it would cause a capacity issue for me to leave it sit in storage on just one axle for the day, but wanted to make sure i wasn't about to do something stupid.

Any thoughts?

Go for it.
Leave a couple jack stands under it if it makes you feel better. :)

Well I decided to go all in and pull all 4 wheels off so I only had to make one trip to the tire shop.

One bit of advice...put the jack stands at or behind the rear axle. Tongue of the trailer lifted off the ground when I first tried putting them under the front axle. Kinda scary :)

Other than that bit of drama it worked perfectly.

Now I just have to figure out why my depth gauge is intermittent.... It's always somethin', isn't it?

Yep. Check your transducer to make sure that it is secure in its epoxy mount. If its loose at all it will give intermittent readings.
