Congrats on the new boat! As for the washdown, are you referring to the shower fixture mounted on the transom by the swim deck? Unless you've got a freshwater holding tank, (which you'd be able to see in your engine bay, they're big and made from aluminum), it's most likely a raw water draw, meaning there's a seacock and a hose in the bilge somewhere that hooks to the water pump that feeds the shower.

If you're referring to the fuel/water separator, it's mercruiser part number 35-802893. It's a spin-on filter much like an oil filter, and it's located on the lower half of the 7.4L MPI block on the starboard side (near the motor mount). They're a bit tricky to replace, but I had really good luck with one of these $3 tools from Walmart. http://i.walmartimages.com/i/p/00/04...27_500X500.jpg

Just take your time, and make sure and put some sort of bucket/catch container down below it before removing the filter completely, without a doubt, you'll spill a little gas.

Thanks for the response.....I didn't see any tank so it probably is raw water .......thanks for the info on the filter......
