202 shabah engine cover/tanning pad help

The engine cover/ Tanning pad on my 1998 202 shabah is rotten and needs to be replaced. What would be my best choice with wood? And also I see everyone else has gas shocks on theirs and mine didn't have them when I purchased te boat, only the mounts. any idea where I can get some and what length?

Auto parts stores for the shocks. Find out what length and psi u need. They are a lot cheaper there. I have a 03 sx19 so mine might be different than what u need.

Do a site search here for "shocks" or "struts" and you will find numerous threads discussing that subject.

Forget the wood. Use King Starboard!:wink_thumbup:

Wood I don't know. I replaced my old Larson engine cover with greentreated plywood.

guys.... read Larry's response about King Starboard. It's a marine-grade high-density polyethylene sheet that works much better than plywood.

If you insist on using plywood, at least find a marine grade version.

I have to completely rebuild my engine cover/sundeck and front seats in Bowrider section on my '98 202.... Going with 1/2" thick Starboard.... Do it once and do it right.....
