Cut to Size King Starboard Marine Grade Plastic Sheet

I ordered my stuff from scrapeplastic on ebay because the sizes I needed and shipping was free. Boat outfitters was my next stop.

Re: King board/starboard/starlite

The boat is a 1996 200 Shabah. I just took measurements and it is 73" wide by 32" deep. Here is what I'm thinking. I'm wanting to redo it in starboard or something similar. Instead of reupholstering it, I'm thinking about having a cushion made that is just slightly smaller (maybe 70 x 30) out of marine vinyl. My thought process is to have 3 straps incorporated, (right, center, left) to attach to stainless mounts that are secured to the starboard. That way if I ever need to flip it over due to wear etc... I can do so. Also, I would think that it would be cheaper to replace the second go around if I ever needed a new cushion. Thoughts?

Back to my original question, if it is supported at the back and both sides, with a 5 inch starboard runner going where the head rests mount, do you think the 3/4 inch starboard would be strong enough?
