98 Z255 leaking.....
 

I picked up my 98 Z255 Shabah last tuesday and I love it!! I am having an issue where the bilge pump is running about every 30 min, and it runs for about 20 seconds. So, it is pumping out a good amount of water. The boat has the 7.4 liter MPI with the Brovo 3 out drive with the factory captians call exhaust. The water appears to be coming from the through the hull exhaust on the drivers side. Not sure exactly where. I am going to pull it apart this week and get a closer look.

I am wondering if anyone has expereince with this type of problem on the 255 shabah?

Through the exhaust or through the transom where the outdrive is? If through the transom area then its going to be a cracked bellows that needs replacing.

It appears to be coming in through the exhaust that comes out on the edge of the built in swim platform.

There is no leaking when the water is calm but, when the boat is rocking, and water is going in the exhaust, there is a leak.......

Ok to make sure I understand correctly... Is it around the edge of the exhaust tips? Or is it leaking somehow through the exhaust diverters or hose?

I'm not sure. My plan it to take the tip off and inspect the area, and then take off the remainder of the assembly.
