What should I use for detailing
Hello to all and thank you in advance for all your help. I am new to this forum and new to the boat owner world. I am a first time boat buyer/owner and Im sure I will have many questions where I will be looking for some help.
I just purchased a 1997 21' cuddy cabin and the boat needs a good detail. The boat is mainly white with some small graphics on the side (sorry I can't provide pics yet at this point haven't even picked it up yet) but I can see some chalkiness if I look at it in the right light and at the right angle. What products should I be using to clean the boat up inside and out? |
Re: What should I use for detailing
I personally would suggest if its light oxidation a good 3 step polish system Mcguires has some and there are others, basically you start by polishing it down abit to get rid of the oxidatin and light scratchs the a swirl removing polish and finally a good wax coat to enhance and protect the shine. Just my opinion and also welcome aboard what type of boat is it?

Re: What should I use for detailing
Thanks for the advice. I was hoping to get something in a "step" system. Its a 1997 Mariah 211 Tesari Cuddy with the 4.3L Merc engine. Is the meguiars system something I can pick up at a marina?

Re: What should I use for detailing
Thanks for all the help. We have a West Marine out where I live so I will take a stop over there and see what they have to offer. I plan to detail the boat next week so I will be posting before and after pictures (hopefully both if not then just the after). I will let you all know how I make out. Thanks again!!!
