Problems with gauges
 

Hi everybody,

I'm hoping that you guys/gals can point me in the right direction with my gauge problems. My speedometer stopped working last season and now my tachometer has stopped working too. Sometimes they will randomly come on for a min or two and then the needle just falls dead again. Any ideas on a fix for this problem? The trim gauge is dead also...but my up trim button took the notorious dive and I haven't repaired that yet. I've just been using the up trailer button. Don't know if the trim button and trim gauge problems are related.

Sounds like a corrosion issue in the wiring connections. As for the Speedo, have you cleaned out the intake tube at the bottom front of the outdrive leg? This is a really common issue and has been dealt with repeatedly on this site. Do a site search for 'speedometer' or view this post.

The same goes for the trim gauge. It's another very common issue & has been dealt with repeatedly. Do a site search & you should find the info you are looking for.
