How to fix Excess steering play on my 2001 192 Shabah
 
I just purchased this boat, during my first outing I found there to be a lot of excess play in the steering. (almost a quarter turn)

Can anyone provide some advice on what I can do to eliminate the play or provide some direction on where I should begin my trouble shooting.
