Fuel Tank
I'm in the middle trying to recover my boat from a botched engine swap and one of the recommendations I've been given was to make sure the fuel tank is clean. My problem is I have no ideas how to go about doing that. The boat is on it's trailer and is about to have the screwed up engine removed. How do I go about getting at the fuel tank and what all do I need to check?
Thanks. |
Re: Fuel Tank
Not sure what model you have, but mine has a big panel in the floor that I can take out and make access to the fuel tank. There is also a small access panel to get to the fuel sender unit etc. I would imagine you can just remove the access panel and look into the tank (Don't use a match ;-) and see if it is clean... I hate to say it, but recently we had a person in our local area spill fuel and vaccum it up, until the explosion.... yes he lived.
So, best let the mechanic do the fuel tank.... |

As for the explosion, I hate to say it but anyone who uses a vacuum to transfer gas probably shouldn't be allowed near a gas tank at all. |
