Steering Lube
 
My manual calls for Special Lube 101 on the steering. Is there any reason I can't just use 2-4-C instead?

My understanding is that Special Lube 101 contains better 'water resistance' than 2-4-c and as such would be better suited for enclosed lubrication requirements such as steering cables.
