Mercruiser Flushing!

Hello all! i recently picked up a Mariah Shabah 210 with a 5.7L mercruiser Alpha one gen 2. i will be keeping it in salt water in a slip 3 months a year. My question is, does anyone who uses the boat in salt water flush the engine after EVERY use? if so, how do you flush it? I was thinking about opening up a thermostate hose and running fresh water through it, but if i start the engine, its obviously just going to take in the salt water its sitting in. Do you think ill be okay for the season and just flush it when i get it out the water? It will be on 3-4 months a year, then not used. Thanks!

I'm no expert here, and I plan on doing the same thing you are, my boat will be docked in brackish water 3-4 months. Not sure how you flush clean water through it but I do know they sell kits which tie into the cooling lines and you can run clean water from the dock through the engine to flush most of it. Doesn't help the outdrive though.

You might want to ask this question on the mariah owners club facebook page too for more responses.
