Docking light replacement

After removing the docking light from my boat (Thanks to the Mariah Form) i need to find were i can buy a new one. I know that the light is most likely pressed into the socket to make it watertight but i cant get it out. I want to buy the whole thing. (see pictures) the whole housing and the bulb. I would need two of them. (1 for each side) the bulb is by Ge Thanks. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...adab935caa.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ce3a00839c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...08bf5c2019.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...cb15afaed8.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d81d5aa859.jpg

Re: Docking light replacement

I've looked before, and have not been able to find that piece on its own. In fact, I couldn't even find just the assembly for one side. I could only find both pairs, like the one I showed you in the pic from the other thread. The price for both pairs was somewhere around $450.00!!

Will they fit my 1996 Z252?

I don't know what kind of space you have mine are s.s and are larger and have a surface plate. thay are very different than yours, might be able to upgrade though if you have the room mine protrude backwards into my anchor cabin.

Please send me a pic of what you have. I am looking to upgrade my plastic ones to SS.

Re: Docking light replacement

Thanks Zluvr! Both of my Mariahs have the same lights, only mine are white plastic. In reading his post, it sounded like he thought his were different than these. As far as I am aware, they came in one style, but two different materials (SS and plastic). If his are the same as what you have pictured, I want them.

Re: Docking light replacement

I just changed the bulbs on my 275. I purchased two of these LED bulbs on eBay:

PAR36 Round LED Trapezoid Distance Beam Bulb Truck Tractor Aviation Work Light | eBay

The first one took me 2-hours to remove the old bulb. The second about 15-minutes. The new LEDs fit perfectly. I put new wires and connectors because the LEDs need to be correct on + and - connections.

Here is the process:
1. Use lots of Dawn soap. Did this in our kitchen sink. Work it around the edges of the bulb by pushing the rubber housing away from the old bulb until the edge has soap and a little water all the way around.
2. Cut off the silicone from around the wires on the back of the rubber mount.
3. Remove the wire connectors.
4. I used a 90 degree 4" long straight blade screwdriver (made for tight places) and worked it under the edge of the old bulb and pried up. Kept working around the bulb about every inch. Finally a small edge came out of the rubber groove. Kept up the process until the old bulb came out.
5. Clean it up.
6. Put new wires (black for ground and some other color for + on the new bulb.
7. Feed the new bulb and wires into the rubber casing.
8. Work the edges of the bulb into the groove. Takes a little work but they will pop in.

I did not take any photos of the process, but the LEDs are great docking lights.
