Multiple Boats
Hi all,
Just wondering how many of you have more than one boat? Reason I ask is that I have the chance to pick up another Mariah, its the twin to my 96 Shabah 180 in blue, but in red. Looks like it's sat awhile but I'll be giving it the once over now I really know what I'm looking at/for as I done a fair amount of work on my own. Not too sure on price yet of it but if it's reasonable, I might fix whats wrong with it and sell it or just keep it. I'm not in the business of flipping stuff but I would hate to just see a Mariah rot on the side of someones driveway. |
Re: Multiple Boats
Mr B put her foot down and said no more than 3 boats at one time! :rolling_laugh:
Only have the one at the moment, but i'm sure that won't last long!!! |
Re: Multiple Boats
I had two, while I was trying to sell the Z250. Owning two sucks if you've got big payments on both...
We've given thought to picking up a PWC or small Jet Boat just to have fun with, but I think realistically we'll end up getting either a stand-up paddleboard or a dinghy. I know quite a few sailors at my marina who have two boats. Always one in the water to enjoy, and one in the parking lot getting restored. One of my marina friends bought a '78 44ft CSY sailboat that spent a day sitting on the bottom of the Potomac from an insurance broker, and he had it shipped to Ohio. He's a custom interior contractor, and has been working on it for the last 3 years solid, (and using his other boat for sailing & fun). His project boat is beautifully restored so far. Supposedly he'll be finished in the next year and he plans to sail it to the Caribbean. That's the life, huh? |
Re: Multiple Boats
I have two. My '99 Z302 and an older Mark Twain 160V that is in very good shape. It's a real pain to have both around, especially come winterizing time. But, the Twain gets used a lot in Spring and Fall for fishing -- and the Mariah comes out in the Summer for play.

Re: Multiple Boats
I have two as well. '04 SC21 and a '00 Shabah 250. Cant say Im a fan of having to similar boats. The SC21 is for sale and has been out once this summer hoping I could get some exposure with it. I would consider having a smaller second boat (18' ?) open bow or older ski boat to do exactly that and keep my Shabah for cruising and enjoying the weekend on my home away from home. Paying two insurance bills and two state annual titles and 8 sets of tires and two trailers to register sucks... Not to mention the parking space they take up. (Along with the other boats being stored on my property). My 2 cents!

Re: Multiple Boats
if i were a single man i wouldn't mind owning two boats! one boat seems to consumer alot of my energy. last year while taking my boat in for the third time for work i fantasized about selling it and buying a kayak.

Re: Multiple Boats
I have two as well, my 1999 Z280 and a very old Mark Twain MTB2150...similar to Woodward33. I would recommend against having two...unless you have a lot of time. I need to get rid of the Twain.
