Spring is coming, TSW mailed me ..
Last night I received a letter from the Trent Severn Waterway about seasonal pass renewal. Basically its a simple form that you fill out, method of payment, mail it off to them and they mail you back the new pass in about a weeks time. It was nice of them to do that for me vs me having to go out and do it myself... lol.
For anyone on the Trent Severn, looks like ALL lockage fee's will be increasing in price a little bit over last year. Last year for a seasonal pass it was $8.40 / foot and I believe the updated pricing is now $8.80 / foot. But if you buy before March 31st, you get it for last years pricing. April 1st the new prices come into effect. Below is the webpage link to Fee information. http://www.pc.gc.ca/lhn-nhs/on/trent...e.asp?park=102 They dont show the increase in pricing over last year, but on the documents I have at home it shows where there were increases. When I get a chance, I will update this post with updated prices. I'am pondering ordering in a 6 day pass this year, which would be around $90 for a boat my size. Season's pass last year cost me around $150-152. This year it would cost me about $159. Going through a lock is fun, but when you are going through it purely to get your moneys worth ... isnt as much fun, it becomes a chore. Either that or pay $15.30 (old price) each lock. I know my girlfriend is looking forward to going back to Big Chute again this year! Click below to see my trip out to Big Chute http://www.mariahownersclub.com/foru...read.php?t=226 |
Yep. I just got the bill for my slip. First installment due by the end of this month. Price went up, but the GST went down, so it pretty much stayed the same...
Kinda cruel though, since it'll easily be 3-4 months before I get to use it... :( |

Yeah, I'll have that bill also. At least when I pay that one, I know I'll be on the water in a matter of hours...;)

The marine where I keep my boat was a bit swamped last year due to the number of marina's in the area closing. They have taken on a lot more volume over the previous storage season.
So they want 2 weeks payment ahead of time I believe and then your boat will be ready within that time frame. They had people that would come up on may 2-4 weekend on friday night and say " im up here, get my boat ready by saturday morning" ... ya .. right. Last weekend in May and the first day of June, or the second week in june is what im planning for. |
Well I just got my bill for my slip today. It went up 10 bucks to make it $410.00 .
Wont be long now guys. :beach: |
luckily i live in Florida and there isnt any need for winterizing a boat. Its only cold for a couple of weeks and then its nice again. Accually I just took my boat out on the ocean today and went to a resturant/bar on the water it was really nice out today. I had a couple of beers and toasted to all of you that cant go out on your boats yet....... SORRY! :rolling_laugh:

Yeah, it's hard to think about spring right now Currently , it's -14 C (7 F) with a flesh freezing windchill of -28C outside.
|
-9 currently, feeling like -16 with the wind. Heavy snowfall warning for tonight as well.
http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/CAON0071 Years ago there was a guy that used to sell hot dogs & hamburgers right @ the mouth of the river on our lake. He would BBQ them on a party boat and passing boaters would stop, grab a bite and keep on going. I think his location is what killed it for him, right in nav channel.... lol. |
