Re: Overland Park (Lake of the Ozarks) Boat Show Pics
Nor-Techs make a lot more than CC's. Super nice boats. The Atlanta boat show didn't have anything like that or the Formula. It was all Wake, Bass and starters with the exception of Marine Max having the Sea Ray Cruisers.

Yeah, Nor-tech has built some cool stuff. 80' performance yachts, 52' cats.. the last with quad 1350's, etc. It was pretty cool to see Terry standing there and ask him personally if I could get on his boat.
The other performance boat there was under the "world's best boat cover" all day. It is one of the Dragon Powerboats. Randy Kent added a bustle to it, powered it with 700's / NXTs, Visual Imagination paint, and interior by his company, Marine Concepts. Here are some, pretty lame, pics of it from before it was rigged and everything. |

Cool stuff. Some of these things newer powerboat designs have a little too much streamlining for my taste but still amazing to look at. I'd take an MTI or an Outerlimits in a second if I could afford it. Oh... And afford the fuel too. I should go to the Miami boat show.

Very cool, it's great to see manufacturers making the most of out available space!
Although, I wouldn't really call that Crownline a mid-cabin, it's more of a quarter berth. I still thikn Mariah had the best mid cabin layout ever. (biased maybe? lol) And leave it to Crownline to offer something very well thought out and not fully come through with making it look nice. Even some flexi-teak or something could jazz it up a little bit. The bowrider and cockpit are awesome and look incredibly roomy and sharp, but that price tag, wow, $150k show price for a 32ft bowrider? That Chap 327 is a great example of how I'd want my small cabin to look like! That's sweet! |

I wasn't sure what to call that Crownline's cabin. I heard a salesman call it a mid-cabin but most of them don't seem to know what they are saying. I like quarter berth.. thanks. There were 3 or 4 boats there with that setup... berth on one side, head on the other.
I talked to a guy standing by that Crownline that said he just sold his '07 for 79K and it had the exact same layout. I agree they could have made it look a lot more classy for that price range. Especially considering that for only 20K more, sticker price, you could have a 327 SS that is a ton more boat. It was fun looking at everything. I'm glad we've had a really mild winter here in KS. I'm pretty sure we're going to be boating shortly. |
