Lookin for a new all-round light

Well sometime over the weekend, my all-round white light pole was bent.

Either my gf or our friend was the culprit (I was driving so im in the clear.. lol). I figure it was leaned up against or used as a support pole (possibly to remove a line off the cleat on starboard rear).

Needless to say I had to decline flying my Canadian flag and my CPS (Canadian Power Sail Squadron) flag from my boat. The pole is slightly loose and wiggly and I wasnt up to having it pop out while underway.

So I just checked that "handy dandy Mariah parts" thread on here and checked out a replacement light from Attwood marine. Hopefully I open one up Dec 25th :)

Edit: my gf claims that she did not bend it, so that leaves our friend leaning on it... lol.

i know who bent mine
it was the tiny little bridge on the channel into Blind lake
I was watching the 3-4 inches i had clearance on either side when the bridge jumped right down on top of me, it must have moved, im not stupid enough to drive under a short bridge with my light pole up (also used to fly my flag, not really light)
lets just say it was short enough i had to duck my head kneeled in the seat

you see the cool retractable ones?
I'm wondering if the 4-5' poles will support the drag of a 3'x5' flag under way

I would say the power retractable ones like I have on my boat would not hold the weight of a 3x5' flag, especially at speed.

Im keeping mine stock :)

I would like to straighten the aluminum however, but i figure it would just bugger up in the unbending process.
