When I turn my key to the first clockwise position the warning buzzer sounds until I turn it fully to start.
The buzzer wont stop until the motor is started (a real pain).
I have a switch on the dash that supplies power to the radio.
The radio wont work unless that switch is put into the on position.
I will have to try out the ccw position next week. Thanks for that info Z202.
Could be real valuable if it works on mine.

Update !
 

There is NO CCW position on my key switch. Off, run, start postions only.

So as long as the boat is on and running, the radio works. Which is fine by me, because we dont really anchor and listen to the radio.
