Time for a little Vacation....
Well gang,
Looks like I'll be off the air for a couple of weeks due to a family reunion... We were hoping to see Australia together but due to economic reasons, it looks like we're headed to Taiwan instead. (Sorry Dudders, was hopping stop by, say g'day and try to get a little room and board out of you... :D) Should be fun anyway, it's kind of like one of those 8 countries in 8 days affair but it all happens on one big island. So we'll be a small mob (tour group) roaming all around Taiwan eating and shopping! Well, at least I get to visit Taipei 101, the current "tallest" building in the world at 1670' tall, that is until until the Burj Dubai at about 2,684' is completed around September of 2009 (even though the Burj Dubai is currently at around 2,400' tall, it's not considered the tallest until completed and occupied). If I find a WiFi spot, or an internet connection, I'll try to log on just to see what's happening on the forum and add to this thread if there is anything really interesting to report... Sounds like your trip should be a lot of fun. I'd love to see either of those buildings. Which reminds me, I have to get my son up the CN Tower sometime soon. Space deck here we come! I'm sure their are enough of us hanging around with nothing to do until the snow melts to look after things while you are gone. :D Hope you have an excellent Holiday. |

I think it'll be fun as long as we can keep the kids under control (how much Benedrill can you give a kid before they start to drool??), just kidding!!! :shakehead:
It's more of a heritage thing for the kids as both Mom's are from Taiwan so weather permitting, it should be a real blast! Well, I'm getting ready to run to the airport so I'll sign off here... I should be back just before the New Year so I'll see you then! WetWilly |

Thanks guys for holding down the fort while I was gone and for the warm welcome back!
It's been really crazy here at home... the wife brought something back (a little bug) and that took about a week and a half for her to get over and as she was getting better, the little one gets worse. So now the wife and little one are doing much much better (almost full recoveries) and guess what, they decided to include me in what ever they had (oh lucky me :(). And to top it off, I guess because of the crazy schedule we were on during the trip and everyone getting sick, dealing with the New Year's celebrations and such, we are all having one heck of a time getting over this jet lag! Oh well, for me it's going to be chicken noodle soup and more bed rest for the next couple of days and hopefully I should be good as new (at least as I was before the trip). All in all, it was fun but as usual, it seems we need a vacation from our vacation (did that make sense?). So I apologize for not being as active the last couple of weeks, but that should change shortly! Till then, WetWilly |

I know exactly what you mean about needing a vacation from a vacation!! We just got back from a 2500 mile journey to Atlanta and Ft. Myers. The freezing rain, sleet, and snow this morning in Indianapolis sure puts everything back into perspective! 13 days off work, and I can't seem to motivate myself at all right now. Wish I could have brought the boat with me - I saw some killer lakes screaming for attention during the drive!!! |
Welcome Back Willy, told you that you should have come to Perth for your holiday. No nasty bugs here - Man eating White Pointer sharks - but no bugs.
We have had beaches closed here constantly due to shark sitings - one poor guy got taken a couple of weeks ago, they only found his snorkel. It was one BIG shark. Still on the bright side, not many people on boats and ski tubes, so more room for us!! He cant be hungry any more can he?:confused: |
