trolling motor
I have a 1995 Mariah barchetta and am thinking of putting a trolling motor on for dual purpose , fishing and backup in case boat acts up again. Where is the best place to mount an electric trolling motor, front or back?

Re: trolling motor
Personally I hate them on the back.
You have way more control of the boat with it up front. Trick is finding a good mounting system that doesn't distract from the looks of the boat(especially since it is a Mariah:)) and getting in the way while loading from the beach/bank. I like the Motorguide Wireless setup. Small footprint for mount , and easily removable , plus you can run it anywhere in the boat.:wink_thumbup: Better have at least 2 batteries! Need a minimum of a 55 lb thrust , and a 70 lb would be way better. |
Re: trolling motor
I have had the same idea for my 214 Jubilee. I hate chugging around with that big v-8 while trolling.
It hurts my engine to go so slow ! |
