draining water from block

Hi all;

We've been using our new (to us) 1996 Shabah 180 about once per week for the last three weeks. My quesiton is, should I drain the exhaust manifolds/block if I leave the boat unused for a couple of days, one week, or several weeks? If drained, should I leave the plugs out so that the block can dry out? Remember, rust never sleeps.

Do whatever you feel is necessary but to be honest, i've never seen anyone go to those extremes....

Thanks, Mike....Sounds like it's ok to leave the water in the block until it's time to put her away for the winter? I was just thinking about folks who don't maintain or regularly change out the coolant in their car radiators. The radiators go from a nice green to a yucky rust. Since there aren't any rust inhibitors in lake water (well, except maybe in the Gulf courtesy of BP), I was just afraid my little V-6 would develop rust chunks and clog up some how. Since I'm so new to this, I was thinking about all the worst case situations. Sounds like this isn't an issue.
