Boating Magazine Suggestions
I don't see a thread dedicated to this. Does anyone get a magazine that they really like? They aren't very popular on the newstands here in KS so it's kind of hard to judge them.

Re: Boating Magazine Suggestions
I used to subscribe to 'Lakeland Boating' mainly because it focused on boating in the Great Lakes region where i hang out. Other than that, i really dont read boating mags any more...
Interesting thought for a thread though.... |
Re: Boating Magazine Suggestions
I have had a subsription to Trailer Boats since I bought my first boat in '85. Good stories, tech info and new boat test and towing info.

Re: Boating Magazine Suggestions
I have a subscription to Great Lakes Boating, BoatUS, and Yachting magazines. I enjoy reading them. Great Lakes Boating covers specifically the Great Lakes Region and is a very well put together magazine. It covers all aspects, highlights specific ports, marinas, fishing, sailing, political and environmental issues, etc. BoatUS magazine is very good reading too, covers projects and product reviews as well. Yachting was a free subscription I got at the Cleveland boat show this winter. It's definitely more catered to the wealthy boat owners, it's a glimpse into how "the other half" of the boating world lives, and gives me something to dream about. :)
I used to subscribe to Trailer Boats for a few years, but after a while, their content got somewhat stale. I didn't always enjoy reading about the new $80,000 wakeboard boats. They tend to skimp a bit on the trailerable cruiser content. It was more bowriders and watersports boats, or at least it was when I cancelled. Some other good boating magazines I pick up from time to time: Boating Magazine BoatingWorld Magazine Motorboating Magazine Powerboat Magazine Hope this helps! |
